Small City STBG Grants

The RPA 8 Small City Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program. STBG is a federal funding program that provides funding to states and local governments for transportation projects. RPA 8 has elected to reserve a portion of its annual STBG allocation for cities with populations under 5,000. RPA 8 will use a competitive process to select projects for funding. RPA 8 will provide technical assistance to eligible entities needing help understanding how to apply.

RPA 8 is now accepting Small City STBG applications for the Federal Fiscal Year 2027-2030 funding cycle. Applications will be accepted by email to cravada@ecia.org and dfox@ecia.org until 5:00 p.m. CT on March 11, 2026.
