Dubuque Metropolitan Area Transportation Study & Regional Planning Affiliation 8

Funding Available: Apply for DMATS and RPA 8 TAP Grants by April 25

The Dubuque Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (DMATS) and Regional Planning Affiliation 8 (RPA 8) are now accepting Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant applications from eligible applicants in the DMATS and RPA 8 areas. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Eligible project activities include a variety of smaller-scale transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails, and community improvements such as historic preservation, vegetation management, and some environmental mitigation related to storm water and habitat connectivity.

Funding for the for these grant programs comes from annual suballocations of the State of Iowa’s federal Transportation Alternative Set-Aside funds. The TAP programs will use a competitive process to select projects for funding. DMATS and RPA 8 will provide technical assistance to eligible entities needing help understanding how to apply.
